I began my career in estate agency 6 years ago when I worked in the head office of a large firm in Leighton Buzzard, since then I have never looked back. From the age of 15 I always knew I wanted to work within estate agency; the idea of selling beautiful houses whilst helping people find their dream home made complete sense to me. Since then I have worked for both independent and corporate estate agents, and I am now a Senior Negotiator for Bradford & Howley.

Over the years I have grown to love my job more and more for many different reasons. From the moment the phone rings, through to when someone collects their keys, I enjoy being a part of the journey which is a major milestone in someone’s life. This process allows me to build relationships and really understand what buyers and sellers are looking for as well as why. My favourite part of this entire process is hearing the excitement when sellers have accepted an offer and buyers find out their offer has been accepted on their dream home.

Being an estate agent has helped me learn vital skills which I apply in my everyday life. An example would be structuring my day to allow me to achieve as much as possible and really motivate me even more to achieve my goals and dreams within life.

During COVID 19 the skills I have learnt from being an estate agent have allowed me to structure my day. I write five tasks I’m going to complete every day, no matter how small or big, the sense of achievement you feel on a day to day basis has really helped me to stay productive and is something I’d recommend to anyone who is finding this period tough.

I couldn’t be more thankful to be given the opportunity six years ago to start my journey within estate agency, and I can safely say it’s a career I will stay with for the rest of my life.
