DECEMBER MARKET REVIEW

As 2019 draws to a close, now is a good time to reflect on the year and look at what has happened within our company and the local property market.

At the start of the year there was a lot of uncertainty in the local property market. Sellers were holding off putting their properties up for sale meaning there was a lack of properties for people to buy, house prices were under pressure as buyers were not prepared to pay these prices and this led to a reduction in the amount of people moving. It really was a wait and see moment.

Well what has changed? There is still uncertainty! The change came with the delay to Brexit, people’s attitude then shifted to one of, let’s just get on with it. We instantly saw more properties come to the market; buyers were prepared to spend their money as they wanted to secure a new home. Prices became more realistic and there was now an active property market again.

From a company prospective we have continued to work hard for our clients. We have been proactive in helping them find buyers that are willing to pay the best prices and at the same time delivered an exceptional service. This has seen us grow our market share in the local area and been recognised in the TOP 3% of estate agents in the country for marketing, service and results.

As we end the year the market has remained buoyant, and we are confident this will continue in 2020.

We saw the busiest-ever start to a new year for the housing market in 2022 and there’s no sign of it slowing down as we head into the busy spring home-selling season. Selling your home can be as daunting a move as when you first bought it. Selling and buying another property at the same time can be even more stressful and complicated. It feels like there has never been such a collective yearning for balmy spring and summer months and the nascent interior trends for spring/summer 2022 are a reflection of that hope for literal and metaphorical sunnier days. Giving your garden some TLC is certainly worth doing if you're putting your house on the market. A few small changes could make your outdoor space more attractive to potential buyers and could subsequently help to sell your house faster. The housing market heatwave across Great Britain continues this month as temperatures soar up and down the country. Asking prices have hit a record-high for the sixth month in a row rising by 0.4% (+£1 354) to £369 968. In London the average is now £692 828.
